Event 2026

" Bring on the clowns, I say." was heard early this morning over the PA. Under good weather with light winds, the three PDQ Flying Clown race teams headed off to the flying circle.

As the contestants woke up from their slumber, they looked out the window and noticed clear skies and cool temperatures. For some, it was even a bit chilly. It still was going to be one of those “Don't forget the sunscreen.” days again.

Sometimes you can win an individual heat race by being careful. But you’re not going to win an entire event with this approach. At some point during the competition, you are going to go against the best.

Today, we wrapped up the last four events for Control Line Speed. We flew 1/2A Speed, 21 Sport Speed, Perky Speed and new this year, PerkE Speed. There were a total of 57 attempts and there were 49 official Flights. That is a bunch of flights for just one day of speed.

Welcome back race fans! Texas Quickee Rat racing started today under excellent weather conditions. The first heat saw Mike Greb winning with an excellent 3:16 versus Chuck Barnes Sr. (3:51). In the second heat, Mike slowed to 3:19 while Barnes improved to post a 3:44.

Today was the last day of the official Navy Carrier events. Both internal combustion and electric-powered Class I and Class II classes were flown.

The 2026 AMA RC Scale Nats runs Thursday, July 9 through Sunday, July 12 at Site 4 of the International Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana. For everyone who could not make the trip this year, here is a preview of the week straight from the people running it.

The Control Line Navy Carrier events started on Tuesday morning. The weather, especially the wind, can play a factor in the outcome the events. This year, the winds were light and variable and from the same direction all day.

Welcome back Control Line Racing fans. This morning started out in perfect weather with AMA event 312 Slow Rat racing. We had four teams this year which made for two heats.

Contestants were greeted by clear skies, light winds and cool temperatures. Sunscreen was one of the words of the day. In the past few days, you could get away with not much sunscreen. Today was just the opposite. It probably was a good idea to reapply it every couple of hours or so, just to make sure.
